About Us

The Beginning

A 2015 survey conducted by the Greater Omaha Chamber in collaboration with the Urban League of Nebraska Young Professionals on how Black YPs feel about Omaha revealed the need for having more opportunities to connect with Black residents through social and cultural experiences.

In the Summer of 2018, 30 Black influencers gathered with the intention of helping Omaha Black residents feel more connected to city-wide events, local resources and community networks. Connect Black Omaha was born.

Our Vision

We envision an Omaha that celebrates and cultivates intentionally curated spaces for Black residents.

Our Mission

Create a digital platform that targets Black folks who identify as boomerang, indigenous and/or transplant to actively engage in Omaha Black culture.
